mid March Schuylkill Acts and Impacts This expedition will involve a physical journey (by kayak and van) along the 120-mile Schuylkill River from its headwaters in the anthracite coal lands of Schuylkill County to its confluence with the Delaware River in Philadelphia, illustrating an array of issues impacting water quality in the Schuylkill River through guided tours, programming, and applied service work designed to highlight issues in the watershed and explore hands-on solutions to these problems. The workshop will consist of multi-platform storytelling and writing in which the participants work together to make a multimedia publication called The Mix.

This is an application form for teams of 3 high school students to be contestants on the RightOn! game show pilot. Taping of the show will be on Friday, March 8 from 12-6pm (including lunch) at WHYY studios located at 150 N. 6th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 (near the 5th Street station). March 8 is a half-day for most public schools in Philadelphia.  FREE- You could win a prize! 9-12

In July and August, the Museum of the American Revolution will offer its Living History Youth Summer Institute. This six-week program is an intensive course for young adults interested in interpreting the lives of people of African ancestry in the Revolutionary era and involves guest speakers, research projects, and field study. It will prepare participants to explore careers in cultural heritage, museum, and theater fields.

Teen Research and Education in Environmental Science (TREES)

During the first two weeks of the program, students receive hands-on instruction in basic laboratory skills, skills they will use later in their projects. Early March Program in Algotithmic and Combinational Thinking (PACT) (at the University of Pennsylvania) The program teaches students about the mathematics and algorithms fundamental to the computer science field.
